Brad Beshaw Wraps Confounded Books

Brad, who enthusiastically devoted himself to Confounded Books for the past seven years in both Belltown and the current location on Capitol Hill, closed shop Saturday night. His encyclopedic knowledge of comics, film and rock, as well as his spiked political views and support for the indy small press and zine scene will be missed... I know, as I was fortunate to share our small business ways while at Wall of Sound. You can read his well said and well worth reading press release here which includes this key line, "I would like to remind all Seattle residents that our small businesses rely on your support." Above is Brad with Jeffery (wos co-owner), Miranda, some of his fans and with a classic Brad gesture. See you soon, Brad!
The good news is Wall of Sound will be expanding...

Fretboard Journal #2

These fotos of Stephen Malkmus were shot for the new issue of the eminently gorgeous and high quality Fretboard Journal #2, which will be making it out to the newstand in the next week or so... I also have a feature spread of pics for an interview with Sir Richard Bishop. Look for it, it looks great and has Neko Case on the cover, one of my favorite female voices recording today...

Pump Up the Volume...

A friend sent me a link yesterday to this hilarious sound performance... the timing to recent press events struck me as being particularly analogous. What will it take to impeach this guy.

Cthulhu Wraps....

Congratulations to the producers, cast and crew after wrapping production for the filming of Cthulhu last week... a lot of hard work and determintation went into this modern adaptation of the captivatingly spooky H.P. Lovecaft mythos. Above are some production fotos from the first round of shooting, and some film stills here. Check out the great trailer on the film's website, for a taste of one of the largest scale, fully local, independent productions in the N.W.!
