Curtis Taylor

Curtis has regularly produced live art song theater from his Vodvil studio and elswhere over the last several years. This past weekend he converted Vodvil into a 70's era amusement club for men as a set for a short film adapted to the 1934 operatic art-song The Bachianas, by Heitor Villa-Lobos. Cthulhu Wraps....

Congratulations to the producers, cast and crew after wrapping production for the filming of Cthulhu last week... a lot of hard work and determintation went into this modern adaptation of the captivatingly spooky H.P. Lovecaft mythos. Above are some production fotos from the first round of shooting, and some film stills here. Check out the great trailer on the film's website, for a taste of one of the largest scale, fully local, independent productions in the N.W.!

Lynn Shelton

A couple of times last year, I had the opportunity to shoot stills on independent movie sets. When I heard that Lynn was working on her first feature film,"We Go Way Back" produced by the Film Company, I gave her a call... Lynn and I met in the mid 80's through our mutual friend Lena Sharpe. Lena was the co-founder of Women in Cinema and a talented film producer, as well as a truly wonderful person. She died tragically at an early age in a plane accident while working on a documentary film project on forestry for PBS. Lynn has dedicated her film to Lena. The hard work of the cast and crew of WGWB has paid off with acceptance into this years Slamdance Festival , not to mention a thoughtful story beautifully filmed. (see a synopsis and the trailer here...)
